The live music industry is arguably one of the hardest hit industries during the coronavirus pandemic. the industry IS suffering, leaving millions without jobs. Legendary concert venues are closing permanently, loyal workers are being laid off, and a once booming industry is now in dire need of support. With no expected end in sight, the live music industry will continue to suffer greatly - with more venues closing their doors every month.
The Facts
Artists generate about 75% of their income from live performances
Live music makes up over 50% of total revenue IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY and is derived mainly from tickets sales to live performances
The live music industry is experiencing upwards of a 90% revenue loss
95% of all events in 2020 were cancelled
77% of workers in the live events industry have lost 100% of their income
Live Nation, AEG, and other concert promoters have laid off a majority of their staff
Without Congress's further support, it is estimated that 90% of NIVA’a Independent Venues across America will be forced to shut down
